In Samuel 2:10, the word "anointed" is introduced for the first time. The Hebrew word for "anointed" is "Messiah." Translated into Greek, "anointed" is "Christos," from where we get the English "Christ." While Jesus did receive honor and power and glory immediately after his resurrection, this verse more fully points toward his judgement upon the nations, his triumph, and his kingship at his second coming. | |
